In 2010, Rocky and Kelly Chambers set out to build a civil engineering firm the region needed. Sixteen years later, we have delivered more than 400 projects across nine states, and we are still rooted in Chattanooga, our home.
Chattanooga Engineering Group started in 2010, when Rocky and Kelly Chambers set out to build something the region needed. Not another firm that hands over a clean set of plans and walks away, but a civil engineering firm that designs for how a project actually gets built, and stays in the field until the work is done.
Sixteen years later, that is still who we are. We have delivered more than 400 projects across nine states, from residential communities and commercial districts to industrial and institutional sites. We partner with developers, architects, and design build contractors who need engineering that holds up in the real world. We have designed over 2,400 residential units and developed more than 100 commercial projects. But the number we care most about is the one that never makes it onto a slide: the clients who call us back.
We are a boots on the ground firm. Our engineers understand construction because we live close to it, so we design efficiently with cost in mind from the first sketch, and we bring creativity to problems other firms treat as boilerplate. Our plans are built to be executed. Grading, stormwater, utilities, permitting, and everything in between, drawn so the work holds up when the excavator shows up.
We also keep it real. We tell you what we see, we pick up the phone, and we do what we say we will do. When a permit stalls or a site throws a surprise, we are the ones standing next to you on site or at the community forum, not a name on a proposal.
We are rooted in Chattanooga and Hamilton County, and we keep reaching further. Our work now spans nine states across the Southeast and beyond, and wherever it takes us, we treat the community like our own. We are parents, coaches, volunteers, and neighbors. That is not a tagline. It is the reason we care whether the thing we designed actually works.
At CEG we are building a real engineering culture, a place where good people do good work, grow, and enjoy it. We believe this is how business should be done.
We face tremendous challenges in the world today. CEG works to solve them, across the built environment and the natural one.
Collection, conveyance and discharge engineered to protect structures and the channels downstream.
Roadway and grading design that keeps growing communities moving safely.
Turning blighted and underused lots into vibrant places to live, work and gather.
Designing spaces that bring joy to the people who live and work around them.
Confronting the water and energy demands of a rapidly growing region.
Balancing profit with preservation, respecting the heritage and beauty of the land.
We approach each job with curiosity, creativity and precision, designing with a mindset that sees possibility where others see problems. Give us a one-acre lot and we'll find a dozen possibilities.
We promise transparency and frequent communication with clients, neighbors, elected officials and regulatory bodies at every stage of the project.
We balance profit with preservation, confronting pollution, congestion and water needs while respecting the heritage and beauty of the natural world.
